Clutter To Cash: Gold & Silver Parties

Gold & Silver Parties have proven to be a great value for clients. Sky-high precious metals pricing really helped clients last year! Here’s a sneak peak into this creative way to make money on stuff you don’t want (one of the main goals of collectibles advising).

2025:

10 parties, 46 people

$100,500 paid out – average of  $10,054 per party!

Most parties had 4-7 people. The host offered snacks and an area to socialize. For coordinating the gathering, each host received 4% of total sales for their party. One party paid out over $22K; the host received over $800!

For a Gold & Silver Party, guests are invited to bring unwanted items such as

  • jewelry they no longer wear

  • broken and damaged jewelry

  • inherited jewelry that is tucked away, unworn and unwanted

  • sterling flatware and serving pieces

  • gold and silver coins

Spirit & Space sets up in an area separate from the social gathering spot, allowing for privacy when clients present what they want to sell. Working with a variety of tools, I look at each piece to identify real gold and sterling silver that can be sold to my wholesale dealer, which pays top dollar and isn’t open to the public. Some pieces are set aside to sell to local dealers or take to auction. If jewelry can’t be sold, many people choose to donate it to support the good work of Dress for Success Indianapolis. For coins with numismatic value, I work with one of the top coin dealers in the country.

Prices have continued to climb; sterling silver has doubled in value in the last six months! We already have two parties on the calendar for 2026. Interested in hosting? Let’s talk!

From a recent Gold & Silver Party host:
“We had lots of fun at my Gold & Silver Party. Friends visited over cocktails and appetizers while each had a private visit with Stephanie. A win all around with FOUND MONEY. Who doesn’t like that?”
