Quintessential Summer

We discovered The Peach Truck this year. Thanks to our friends Harriet and Becky, we now order fresh peaches from Georgia whenever the truck is going to be in town.

There’s something quintessentially summer about fresh peaches, especially ones that smell and taste as good as these. (How do they do that?)

The last week included some other classic summer experiences: ice cream cones, reading on the porch, listening to the crickets, lingering over dinner on the porch with friends and family, watching fireflies at night.

Between organizing and collectibles advising, public speaking and managing the back end of Spirit & Space, my days are full of work. Sometimes I lose my balance.

What takes you off balance? Work, kids, family, school, health, house, pets…perhaps something else. For all of us, there are times when something demands more time and attention, taking us away from other things we’d like to be doing.

When life seems out of control, having a space where you can truly relax can make all the difference. It’s worth taking the time to create a space to relax deeply.

As this full week winds down, I’m looking forward to a much less scheduled week ahead, with very few appointments. I’m really looking forward to finding a better balance between work and home.

Here’s to more reading on the porch, listening to the crickets, maybe even catching fireflies.

Wishing you a summertime respite that’s good for your soul.
